On March 14, 2015 the LPS Weightlifting Team sent athletes to the inaugural event of the Ontario Weightlifting Series in Vaughan. LPS was well represented by our competing athletes, including a gold medal in the masters division by Tyson Staples; a personal best snatch of 72kg and silver medal in the junior division by first time competitor Gregory Batista; a top-ten finish and personal best snatch of 91kg by first time competitor Omar Aboseif; and a personal best clean and jerk of 125kg for Daniel Moylan who went 98/125/223 for the highest total on the team.

Now we are looking ahead to the Ontario Senior Championships where Maya Laylor and Mark Bui will be looking to take home some more hardware for the LPS Weightlifting trophy case. Come out and cheer them on at Variety Village. Mark competes on Friday, March 27th in the evening and Maya fights to remain undefeated in all competitions on Saturday, March 28, at 11 am!
