WHAT IS IT?

This Athlete Strength and Conditioning Program is a personalized, in-person (or online) training experience built on a multi-phase approach, hands-on instruction, direct access to a certified coach, and a community of dedicated athletes.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This program is for athletes who are tired of mediocre results, who compete in explosive power sports, and who want to break through their limits, stay injury-free, and train with a proven system that has delivered real results for hundreds of athletes.

WHERE DOES IT HAPPEN?

Training takes place in person at our North York facility, where you’ll have access to expert coaching, top-tier equipment, and an environment built for high-performance athletes.  Online/remote options are available, but we recommend in-person.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We start with an in-person Remapping assessment to analyze movement patterns and identify key areas for improvement. From there, we design a custom program with hands-on coaching, real-time adjustments, and frequent check-ins to ensure you’re building strength, speed, and resilience the right way.

Your journey begins the moment you enrol.  You’ll complete your in-person Remapping assessment, and within the first few days your personalized program will be implemented with expert coaching and ongoing support.

The consultation meeting is done on a call or in-person. A certified coach will go over your history, goals, the process, and the results that you’re looking for to see if we’re the right fit for each other.

INITIAL ASSESSMENT

We start with a Remapping™ Assessment with a certified coach. This assessment identifies muscular imbalance and movement deficiency to helps us develop a program to increase performance.

WORKOUT PROGRAM

You will have your own personalized workout program addressing your needs.  Your program and progress can be accessed digitally anywhere, and your data is shared with your coaches to further refine your program.

SUPERVISED COACHING

Train under the supervision of a certified coach. Your coaches will help with your technique, loading progression, intensity to produce flexibility, mobility, stability, dexterity, power, speed, and strength.

I walked into the gym back in may with no experience at all in football 🏈. The coaches there really help me join a football club where I eventually displayed dominance in most aspects. I also got noticed by reporters whenever I was on the field.Coming from someone with no experience, the coaches there, especially coach Clance helped me develop the proper strength and conditioning in a very short amount of time, which helped me surpass most guys in terms of athletic ability. My son Ethan (13 years) started training with the LPS team about 9 months ago and have done both virtual training with coach Alan, and in person with coach Clance. The results we have seen both physically and mentally have been incredible. The training sessions are very intense and the motivation the coaches have given him is second to none. Amazing environment built for winners. If you want to be a winner. It doesn’t matter if it’s in sports, health/fitness, or just life. This environment, the team, the atmosphere in general is the place to be. I’ve trained in many facilities with many high level coaches growing up through my athletic career all the way to the pros, and there has not been one place here in Canada or in the USA that I’ve been to that is even close to what this place offers. It’s beyond the training program. The results are there. You just have to stick it through all the phases. It’s hard to explain it’s a feeling. And once you step through those doors and ACTUALLY stick it through, you’ll see exactly what I mean. You want to be stronger, faster, mobile, injury resistant, lose weight, build your mental toughness, etc etc. this is the place. This place is for life. It prepares you for life in general. I recommend this facility, this staff, this atmosphere for anyone that wants to win in life, sports, business, ANYTHING. This is the place to be. Words don’t do it justice. Experiencing it will.

I brought my 14U baseball team to train at LPS to help them get stronger and faster. LPS not only delivered in making them stronger, faster, but they also made them more durable, and mentally stronger. Our kids really enjoyed the time and learned a lot that they can take away for years to come. We look forward to getting back into it when the season is over.

My son started at LPS last December and although I was a bit hesitant about weighlifitng at first, I think this will actually make the most difference in his overall athletic ability, strength and confidence as he is go into his hitting year in hockey. The difference in his speed is significant and he is sure it is because of the training he has done. They have a great team at LPS. Highly recommended.Just an update!2 years later I have seen an unbelievable change in him not only in strength but overall athletic ability. He has joined their weightlifting team but still plays hockey. Not only will it make your kid stronger, it will give him or her great confidence which is one of those important and almost intangible qualities that can be challenging for us as parents to teach to our kids

My daughter is 15 and swims competitively. Despite being hesitant to join LPS at first, she really enjoyed going for six weeks this past summer. We saw results very quickly and she gained strength and knowledge on proper technique. The coaches were awesome and really helped my daughter enjoy the program. I came to LPS for an internship during the spring of 2022 as I'm strongly interested in working as a strength coach. My experience working with the coaches was incredibly informative and taught me more than I ever thought was possible. Gym Culture. I knew I was in for a challenge when I discovered LPS on Google. I figured if PK Subban trained there it definitely would be a winner. The staff are super dedicated to improving their personal athletic abilities, so naturally they help us with very detailed guidance. Tweeking for better form or performance is a constant. I originally came here for a taste of how pro athletes train and I didn't plan to stay long term. Now it has been 10 months and I don't ever wanna leave. I stayed for the amazing and knowledgable coaches, the pace pushing environment that forces me to improve, and the results that I couldn't have achieved without their help. LPS is a differentiator with my son Logan's aspirations to become a professional athlete.I have found his coaches to deliver the highest level of expertise including weighting, techniques, frequency, range of motion and injury prevention.LPS fosters a very serious and professional experience with youth. There are a couple of things I like about LPS. First off the atmosphere is unreal. Training next to some of the top athletes in Ontario creates an addicting energy while training; like there's no way you're going to be lazy when there are Olympians, pro footballers, and top track stars snatching 300lbs next to you. You immediately rise to their level.Secondly, the gym culture. There's a standard of excellence that sets the tone. It's very clear the intention: you want to be the best you gotta train like the best. The staff is amazing. As high as the standard is, everyone is so kind and helpful and all anyone wants for you is to succeed and it's very clear in the way they coach and treat you.The biggest difference from other gyms is LPS’s scientific knowledge for developing athletes.So many other gyms do not know how to properly build their athletes without injuring them. I’ve found other gyms focus more on gimmicks, and they lack the principles behind true athletic development such as making athletes do single-legged exercises on a balance ball with a kettle ball which is huge for injury. The majority of gyms lack the foundation and understanding behind true athletic development.LPS is the gym I constantly compare others to. And none have lived up to my standard of LPS. I know if want to be a top athlete, LPS is the only choice.

I am a professional volleyball player and LPS has been my favourite off season in my 13 years of training for this sport. I spent my first summer at LPS these past few months, and I reached a new level of strength, flexibility and mental toughness I’ve never tapped into before stepping into this gym. The coaches are the most knowledgeable, supportive and caring group of people and really want you to succeed as an athlete. I was so happy to find LPS after having ACL reconstruction last year. I was recovering well but not seeing the results I needed. After reaching out their response was quick, professional, and optimistic. I started my program with LPS in February and did a full month and a half before the Covid lockdown. In that short span of time I saw more results in my leg strength than I had seen in the prior 2 months of my recovery where I had focused on solely regaining muscle. Beyond the physical improvements the team at LPS helped me regain my mental strength and confidence. Being injured as an athlete is very difficult but the community they have built at LPS is truly empowering and I cannot thank them enough for getting me through such a tough time.

This is the best Strength & Conditioning Facility in Toronto. If you want to optimize your athletic performance, make it to a pro level at sports, or simply improve physical quality of your life... - LPS is the place to go to. Great facility, the coaches are professional, knowledgeable, with patience but loving toughness. In only two months my strength has increased a lot and the way I move on the field has improved a ton thanks to the Athlete Activation System (AAS) program and given me the confidence that I’ll be able to dominate in the next level. In addition, the energy at LPS is upbeat, inviting and positive. Of course, I think Coach Laylor is the best trainer out there but all of the coaches are amazing and will help you reach your goals.

LPS is a place where anyone thinking of reaching the next level should be. I trained many different ways to get stronger and be more focused on reaching higher goals with performance and I have not found anything better than here. When I first heard about LPS I was skeptical – I’ve never done any weight training, gaining all my exercise by playing multiple sports: Golf, tennis, hockey, basketball and cross country skiing. But I’m 55 now, and I could tell my body was starting to break down. I had pain in my knees, and would wake up aching. So much so that descending a stair case could be difficult at times. I wondered to myself if this is just how it is when you get older. It turns out I was dead wrong! I’ve been going to LPS since February, and I’ve never felt better. Clance and his team provide the right level of motivation without making you feel pressured, and if you put in the time you get the results: No more aches and pains, stairs are a breeze. I’m stronger, have much better flexibility and it’s paying off in every sport I play. Longer off the tee, more agile on the tennis courts, better endurance in hockey. I would highly recommend LPS to anyone who is wants to keep the edge on your fellow competitors.

I love the environment, support and results! My muscles and joints feel so much stronger and healthier. I have lost a considerable amount of body fat (now in a healthy athletic range) and my strength and endurance is constantly improving. Just feels like the perfect system to become the very best version of yourself.

My experience at LPS has been the best experience I’ve had at any gym and sports training facility. I’ve never had quicker results and improvements in my life. One thing that really stands out to me is how attentive all coaches are to every detail. I don’t know how they manage to be attentive to such a large group of quality athletes but they do. With hard work, practice, and coach’s dedication, flaws in my lift get fixed quickly.

Trained at LPS for 2 Seasons for my Golf game. In such a short amount of time, I am now able to hit my drives past 300Y. Not only that, I am also able to jump and grab a basketball rim, and I'm only 170cm (5'7 roughly). These guys know what they are doing when it comes to Athlete Performance.

Youth athletes players can start resistance training with relative weights as young as 6 years old, as research and many medical associations confirm that weightlifting for kids is safe. However, younger athletes require more in-depth instruction to ensure proper technique, loading, and progression. For this reason, we recommend online training for ages 12 and up, while younger athletes benefit most from in-person coaching to develop a strong foundation.

The outdated myth that weight training stunts growth has been debunked — and in this article we explore how athlete weight training training, when done correctly, actually promotes growth by increasing bone density and overall strength as well as improving sports performance which in turn leads to an overall more resilient athlete.

Elite training routines typically include strength and power training at least four (4) times a week during the off-season, once or twice (2) during the season to maintain strength, speed and endurance while reducing the risk of injury.

For youth players ages 10 to 14, we recommend at least two (2) strength and conditioning sessions per week to support muscle growth, overall athletic performance, and long-term development.

Expect a minimum of 60 minutes per session, with most lasting 90 minutes to ensure optimal training volume. Our workout plan focuses on progressive overload, combining high-intensity functional movement training with sport-specific exercises.

You’ll work closely with our coaches, who monitor training frequency and technique, integrating speed training and plyometrics to help you train for explosiveness, agility, and power in your sport.

We specialize in sports that emphasize speed, strength, and power, such as hockey, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, tennis, golf, track and field, and more. Our type of training is designed to improve athletic performance in high-intensity, explosive sports rather than endurance-based disciplines like long-distance running or triathlons.

The best exercises vary based on an athlete’s fitness levels, training goals, and sport. Young athletes workout routine focuses on bodyweight exercises, light weighted exercises (generally using equipment such as a dumbbell) functional movement, and foundational drills such as squats, lunges, chin-ups, and push-ups.

As they advance, their workout program includes strength and power exercises, progressive overload with barbells, and high-intensity explosive movements to strengthen ligaments, tendons, and fascia – all done with am emphasis on full range of motion.

A properly structured off-season training program lasts twelve (12) to sixteen (16) weeks to develop strength, power, and muscle growth effectively. A common mistake among athletes is overloading their schedule with camps and competitions instead of prioritizing foundational strength training.

A well-planned off-season should balance training volume, training frequency, skill development, and sport-specific intelligence for peak in-season performance.

One of the biggest challenges athletes face is not prioritizing strength training during the off-season. Many mistakenly focus solely on competition, camp, or taking vacations rather than being consistent for a period of time to build a solid base of functional strength and muscle mass.

Another challenge is under preparation — without proper training frequency, load management, and recovery, athletes can burn out or become more susceptible to injuries. Our approach ensures balanced development and reduces the risk of injury by optimizing training volume and progression.

While we highly recommend in-person training for all athletes to allow for real-time progress monitoring, we do offer online and hybrid options for those unable to attend in-person sessions.

However, for kids under the age of 12, we recommend online live coaching with parent supervision and help as proper form and technique is paramount — something that can only be effectively achieved through live coaching.
