Our Baseball workouts are best experienced in-person at our Toronto (North York) facility, where you’ll have access to specialized equipment. However, we offer both online coaching and hybrid options to accommodate individual schedules and preferences.

Begin your journey with a Remapping assessment. Our team will then design a personalized program delivered through our app, featuring Baseball-specific exercises guided by our certified coaches. Elite & Professional Baseball players typically schedule involves 4 gym sessions per week in the off-season and 1-2 sessions during the season. For youth players under 12, we recommend at least 2 training sessions per week for optimal development.  Whether you are a high school baseball player, college baseball player, or even a professional in Major League Baseball (MLB), strength training and conditioning is important for baseball players.

Expect minimum 60-minute per sessions, with most lasting 90 minutes in our Baseball strength and conditioning program. Baseball demands strength, speed, power, coordination, and durability. Our coaches will closely guide your training, gradually incorporating speed training to enhance your explosive power on the field, improving your running, throwing, and hitting velocities.

Youth Baseball players, even as young as 6, can safely incorporate weight training & resistance training programs into their routines. Medical research has debunked the myth that lifting weights stunts growth. In fact, properly guided weight training can actually promote growth by increasing bone density. Ensuring proper instruction, appropriate weight loads, and a gradual progression is crucial for all youth athletes.  Studies have shown that proper training methods & strength exercises will significantly reduce common injuries in Baseball.

Not necessarily. We recommend in-person workout routine at our Toronto location (125 Martin Ross Avenue, North York) where specialized equipment plus supervision of certified Baseball strength and conditioning coach maximizes results. However, we also offer remote online coaching and hybrid models. Our program caters to seasoned athletes for independent training and provides online coaching with live feedback or video analysis for beginners and intermediate athletes, assisting them with technique, intensity, and program adjustments.

Optimal training drills vary based on an athlete’s age, size, and position. Young players (under 12) primarily focus on bodyweight exercises, emphasizing mobility and foundational movements like split squats, lunges, chin-ups, push-ups, and medicine ball training for rotational movements. Elite, college, and professional athletes require advanced strength programs utilizing equipment like barbells to develop explosive weightlifting movements, rotational strength, and maximal strength. This allows their body – ligaments, tendons, and fascia – to move in synchrony, enabling them to effectively receive, react, and recoil from forces, a crucial skill to improve your Baseball abilities.

What you should avoid are doing too much slow moving exercises such as deadlift, or single-leg (unilateral) exercises in the weight room because that will slow you down and not prepare you for higher velocity movements especially around the rotator cuff when throwing or reaching.

The short answer is both.

A strong core & lower body strength  is fundamental for balance, speed, and power in Baseball. All power originates from the legs. We emphasize holistic training, focusing on the synchronized function of the glute, hamstrings, quadriceps, hips, ankles, calves, and knees using specific plyometric training exercises. The body makes unconscious, split-second decisions on the field, demanding a neurologically integrated approach to training.

Similarly, upper body strength significantly impacts speed. The adage “your arms dictate how fast you run” holds true. An optimal ratio of chest to back strength, triceps, biceps, is crucial for maximizing speed. To achieve peak Baseball power, focus on whole-body training, striving for ideal specific strength and power ratios, while prioritizing core strength.

We recommend dedicating at least 12 weeks, ideally 16, to a dedicated off-season training period free from competitive Baseball games. A common parental oversight is prioritizing spring games over foundational sports performance training, which ultimately limits peak performance. Elite athletes should prioritize a balanced approach, dedicating equal attention to on-field skills training, Baseball IQ development, and enhancing both physical and mental fortitude.

Dedicated strength training helps enhance both physical and mental abilities, translating to improved Baseball performance on the field. For Baseball pitchers, this means increased throwing velocity, while all players benefit from enhanced fundamental Baseball movements like running, jumping, and throwing. While gym training is crucial, continued development of baseball skills like throwing a baseball and Baseball IQ is essential throughout the year for all players.

The biggest challenge we see is that many Baseball players do not prioritize the time to train their body when the games don’t matter. When we explore how Baseball families in the last decade has changed; is that they are attending more and more camps, doing more and more spring Baseball, following what everyone else is doing versus doing what actually will help the athlete perform in the future.

Dominant baseball players possess athleticism built upon a foundation of strength, rotational power, explosiveness, speed, mobility, agility, and durability. Exercises like squats significantly impact “starting power” – the ability to overcome inertia quickly. Leg strength is paramount for achieving faster running speeds. However, true performance enhancement requires consistent application of these physical attributes within the context of the game itself on the baseball field.
