The LPS Weightlifting Team is making some noise in Ontario! Congratulations goes out to Maya Laylor with another first-place finish at the Ontario WinterLift competition in Toronto on February 7. Competing in the 75kg weight class, Maya broke 3 junior and 1 senior provincial record by hitting 88kg on the snatch and 108kg clean and jerk for a total of 196kg. With that, Maya is now poised to take on the Ontario Senior Championships on March 28 at Variety Village in Toronto.  We would love if you could help support Maya to fuel her dreams to the Olympics.

Joining Maya at this year’s provincials is Mark Bui who earned bronze in the men’s 62kg weight class. Mark brought his total to 181kg with an 80kg snatch and a 101kg clean and jerk. This will be Mark’s first appearance at the senior championships and he will be chasing a national championship qualification along with Maya.

We are very proud of you both!
