It’s Not About Me

The real reason I enjoy coaching is that I get to help others believe they can accomplish anything they put their minds to.

I push my athletes because it helps them prepare for life.

I care about how they do on, but also off the field, because I truly want every kid who walks through my gym doors to be successful.

When my athletes can survive the “dark days”, as we call it in the gym, it helps them build confidence and mental fortitude.

I’ve seen many, and I mean many, gifted athletes that don’t have or haven’t cultivated that work ethic.

They get faced with a challenge and give up easily or they make some excuse as to why they failed or quit.

I’ve said this a million times and I’ll say it again:

“I will take an athlete with WILL POWER and a little bit of talent over the lazy, gifted athlete anytime.”

Eventually, the kid with willpower will DOMINATE!
