Transforming My Training Journey: An Experience with Clance and LPS

When it comes to athletic training, finding the right environment and guidance can make all the difference. Jozy Altidore’s journey took a transformative turn when he began working with LPS —a decision that forever altered his approach and appreciation for training.

A New Perspective on Training

Prior to meeting Clance, Jozy often faced soft tissue injuries—a common challenge for many athletes. These injuries, primarily caused by inadequate preparation and lack of durability, became a significant hurdle. However, upon entering Clance’s facility, Jozy’s perspective changed.

At LPS Athletic, he was surrounded by like-minded athletes and professionals who were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly collaborative. Their openness to integrating various training methodologies catered to each athlete’s unique background, ensuring a tailored approach to strength and conditioning.

The Environment That Makes a Difference

What truly stood out to Jozy was the environment—one that pushed each athlete to their limits without coddling. In the professional realm, it is not uncommon to encounter experts who claim to know it all. However, Clance and his team approached training differently. They were proficient in their field yet embraced a learning mindset, adapting their methods to fulfill the needs of each athlete. This collaborative spirit nurtures an atmosphere where athletes can thrive and improve.

Training for Durability and Injury Prevention

Reflecting on his time with Clance, Jozy often wishes he had discovered this training practice earlier. The insights and preparation might have significantly shifted the course of his career by minimizing the injuries that once plagued him.

Working with Clance really changed my perception of training. You know, before I went to his facility to train, I had a lot of soft tissue injuries. A lot of times they were due to, you know, bad preparation and overall just not being durable enough. And I learned that working with Clance and his team and being able to work in an environment where.

There was like-minded athletes, like-minded professionals, but also being a place where I wasn’t coddled and I was being pushed. Oftentimes, you know, in the professional landscape, we, we work with professionals and people that feel like they know everything and they know it all, and that was one of my big takeaways working with Clance is that.

While they, they’re all knowledgeable and they do have a profession in, in a way they like to do things. They’re very open and collaborative and they learn to, to mesh different methods into what they’re doing, making sure the athlete feels comfortable depending on the walk of life he comes from. And that really stood out to me.

But once I walked through those doors, I, I began to train different. I began to prepare my body to be more durable and I wish I found Clance earlier ’cause I think it would’ve transformed my career and I would’ve had less soft tissue injuries. So if you’re looking for a place to, to have an intimate training environment, a place where you want to train fiercely and look to improve and have injury prevention, which is such a key thing to prolonging careers, I think Clance and his team is more than.

Uh, equipped to do that and some of the best in the business. So I look back with very fond memories of my time training there, and I will definitely train there in the future. And I would recommend any aspiring serious athlete or any proven athlete that’s playing right now in the world stage to train in a way where you prevent injuries and you make yourself durable.

And one place I know that does that is with Clance. So I had a, a great experience and, and he’s one of the best in the business.
