You get stuck in the grind.  Maybe you are addicted to it and enjoy it.  It’s the only way you know how to live.  You work hard for your money.  It’s what gives you a rush.  It’s what makes you feel alive.  But is it also what is killing you?  Does it make you feel alive, but also make you forget to live?  We know you work hard for what you have, but don’t forget about your health while you are working on your wealth.

In case you forgot, here are 3 reasons you should start taking better care of your health.

  1. Your livelihood depends on it

Recently, NFL linebacker James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers signed a 2 year multi million dollar contract. Nothing fancy right?  Except James Harrison is 38 and has been playing pro football for over 13 years.  This is unheard of for many football players (the average length of an NFL career is 3-5 years) and this is even more amazing because Harrison is a linebacker and constantly takes hard contact in games.  Harrison says the reason he has been able to play so long is because he spends so much money taking care of his body.  Hundreds of thousands per year in fact. This allows him to continue to play football, and thus earn a living.  Do you have to spend hundreds of thousands per year on your body?  No.  Just remember that the more you invest in taking care of your body, the more potential for longevity you have and the more capacity you have to keep earning.

  2. Exercise is the fountain of youth

Proper exercise will keep your heart healthy, your joints healthy and of course your muscles healthy.  Proper training will have you feeling and looking younger for longer.  A healthier, more youthful you means more lively time with your spouse, your kids, and an overall better quality of life into your older years.  It would suck if once you retired, you were in poor health and couldn’t enjoy what you worked for.  Make sure that doesn’t happen.

  3. If a particular disease runs in your family, you should do something about it…like right now

Disease and ailment has no discrimination, especially when the disease runs in your family.  We know proper nutrition and exercise is the best way to prevent or delay pretty much any chronic, genetic disorder.  These diseases can hit at anytime, the sooner you start taking care of yourself, the better.  The fact that you know that the disease runs in your family is a good thing.  It allows you to take preventative measures and stay two steps ahead with proper exercise, nutrition and making sure to go to your doctor for routine check ups.

At Laylor Performance Systems, we work with people that know the importance of their finances.  If you are reading this, you are likely one of them.  Use the 3 reasons above and make an investment in the most important asset in your life, yourself.
