Basketball Strength Training Workouts with Saran Rajagopal

When I first came here, I was playing a lot of basketball and I developed jumper’s knee on my right knee.

It was very hard for me to jump to play basketball because I had a lot of pain in my knee,

I was a two foot jumper and since my knee pain, I had to switch to one foot off my left leg, which, wasn’t very ideal.

Ever since I came to LPS I took an off season for two months and went four times per week. When I got back on the court, my knee pain was gone. I’m jumping two foot and one foot easily. And my vertical improved a lot. I can easily dunk now before I could barely dunk.

I also do track and field. I felt way faster. when I’m racing my teammates, I was at the 200 meter line, and they’re at like the 150, 125 meter line. And yeah, so LPS helped me, like a lot.

I saw a lot of, videos online saying that, weight training doesn’t really help that much. Usually just plyometrics and running a lot. But then, ever since I came, after the two months, I realized that weight training actually helps a lot.

And it really changed my mind.

I couldn’t even squat fully. I can only squat half.

this summer when I went four times a week, my body was very fatigued, that brought my confidence down and I felt like it wasn’t working.

But then I stuck through it. I’m happy that I stuck through it because after the two months I jumped so much higher

I feel way better. I feel so much stronger. I feel like I jumped way higher, feel more durable.

If I didn’t go to LPS that past month, I feel like I wouldn’t have improved at all.

I’m gonna come back next year and hopefully improve a lot more.

Right now you’re doing in season training. You’re staying in all the work that you’ve done. Yeah, maintaining it. You’re maintaining it. You’re hitting in here once or twice a week.

I’m proud of you, man. Seriously, really proud of you.
