LPS Athletic Centre in North York works with all age groups and abilities, ranging from kids to adults and beginners to elite level athletes.

Our methodology is to train our athletes moving through proper full ranges of motion, coach and build proper lifting technique, and then get them strong and explosive in which we call Xplosion Training™.

TRAIN HARD

We’re a community of athletes that push each other to be better each and every day. We have fun, but we work hard. We cheer for each other and strive to be the best in class.

TRAIN FREQUENTLY

Commitment will get you started, consistency will help you finish. We set you up with coaching, programming and techniques with long term views for long term successes in and out of weightlifting.

TRAIN HEAVY

Technique is paramount. Once your skill develops over time and you are able to have proper positions, you’ll earn the right to lift heavy. And boy do we lift heavy!

TRAIN TO FULL ROM

Training to full range of motion is utmost importance to us. Weightlifting is the ability to display movement, strength and explosiveness in the proper full ranges of motion.

BEGINNERS TO INTERMEDIATE WEIGHTLIFTING

Are you looking to improve your Olympic weightlifting technique and gain strength, speed and power at the same time? No matter what your experience level, beginner to advanced, this coaching program is designed to maximize your potential.

First-time participants must go through an introductory coaching & assessment session ($80) prior to starting their plan. Each group class is limited to maximum 6 participants.

MEET OUR COACHES

Maya Laylor Olympic Weightlifting Coach

Maya is the current female Senior Olympic Weightlifting champion of Ontario in 69kg class and is a four-time Ontario Junior Champion and held the title of 2014 Senior Champion in Canada in the 75kg class. As a part of the Canadian Junior Weightlifting team, she competed in both the 2014 and 2015 World Junior Championships, held in Kazan, Russia and Wroclaw, Poland respectively.

‘All’ time slots are for all members who are enrolled in any of our programs. ‘Elite+’ time slots are for all members who are in our Elite, Pro, Superhuman, or Executive program only. ‘Open Weightlifting’ are open gym times for Weightlifting members who are enrolled in our weightlifting program or on the weightlifting team.
