LPS Athletic Centre in North York works with all age groups and abilities, ranging from kids to adults, beginners to elite level athletes.

Our methodology is to train you moving through proper full ranges of motion, coach and build proper lifting technique, and then get you strong, explosive, mobile, and injury-free.

Technique & safety is paramount. Once your skill develops over time and you are able to have proper positions, you’ll earn the right to lift heavy. That’s when the magic happens.

TRAIN TO FULL ROM

Training to full range of motion is utmost importance to us. Weightlifting is the ability to display movement, strength and explosiveness in the proper full ranges of motion.

MEET YOUR COACH

Maya Laylor Olympic Weightlifting Coach

Maya is the current female Senior Olympic Weightlifting champion of Ontario in 69kg class and is a four-time Ontario Junior Champion and held the title of 2014 Senior Champion in Canada in the 75kg class. As a part of the Canadian Junior Weightlifting team, she competed in both the 2014 and 2015 World Junior Championships, held in Kazan, Russia and Wroclaw, Poland respectively.

GETTING STARTED WITH TRAINING

Step 1: Schedule an Initial Assessment (Required)

STRUCTURAL & PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT

All new LPS members are required to start with an structural & performance assessment. This assessment allows us to understand your goals, identify weaknesses and create a baseline data. Our certified LPS coaches alongside with our Director of Programming will then take the results of the assessment to design a personalized training program for you to achieve results we set together.

Step 3: Optional A-La-Carte Add-Ons

  • Remote Programming (+$50/mo) | Perfect for those who want a program they can do on their own outside of the their scheduled supervised coaching session.

  • Open Gym Access (+$75/mo) | Only for members enrolled in a weightlifting program above that wants to use the facility during open weightlifting hours.

  • Massage Therapy (+$180/mo) | Recovery improves performance. Save money by creating a pro-active approach to recovery and receive two 1-hour full body massages per month by our Registered Massage Therapist.  This may be covered by Health Benefits providers.

  • Essential Supplements (+$200/mo) | Save money by subscribing to our monthly Athlete’s Essential Supplements that will boost performance and recovery which include(s) but not limited to BCAA, Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamin D3, and Multi-Vitamins from AOR.

  • Nutrition Guidance & Meal Plan ($350) | Receive a BioSignature Assessment & report, 1-hour consultation with a certified Nutritionist, Unlimited E-mail follow-up for 30 days, and a meal plan (7 breakfast, 7 lunch, 7 dinner, 12 snacks, 4 desserts) customized to your physical and psychological needs. (Note: This does not include the meals itself)
